Hi, I’m Dalen, a veteran teacher who has spent years creating a classroom that is both rigorous and fun. I believe learning should challenge students while also giving them a safe, welcoming space to take risks, make mistakes, and grow. Every child deserves to feel seen, capable, and successful—and that belief drives everything I do as an educator.

Over the years, I’ve discovered that the best classrooms are built on a balance of structure and joy. I design engaging, standards-based ELA activities that push students to think deeply, while also making learning exciting and meaningful. Whether it’s through thought-provoking discussions, creative projects, or interactive lessons, my goal is always the same: to spark curiosity and give students the tools they need to thrive.

I also know teaching isn’t easy. It takes creativity, patience, resilience, and a sense of humor. That’s why I share ideas, strategies, and resources here—so other teachers can save time, feel supported, and bring both rigor and joy into their own classrooms.

When I’m not teaching or creating new lessons, you’ll usually find me reading just about anything, shopping, or spending time with family (humans and dogs). Just like my students, I’m always learning and growing, and I’m grateful for the chance to share that journey with you.
